The Gemmer Club sends our condolences to Gene’s family during this difficult time.
The Gemmer Muzzle Loading Gun Club is for many members a large extended family. Today we have 69 members, 8 of which are honorary. The latest member, Tim Turnbull, was added just this month. Tim is retired and lives in Atchison, KS. That is about a 4.5 hour drive away!
I was going through our roster and wanted to share a few names of members that have very long time memberships.
Don Franke – 52 years
Clint Cummings – 50 years
Dennis Barnes – 49 years
Dennis Quinn – 48 years
Greg Grimes – 40 years
Bob Browner – 39 years
Rusty Caldwell – 35 years
Rick Weeks – 35 years
Ron Kaiser – 33 years
Jim Feeney – 32 years
Mike Petersmeyer – 32 years
Margie Browner – 31 years
Mike Zemann – 28 years
Ted Sanders – 26 years
Most of these long time members are regularly at our matches and work days.
We also have 23 newer members that have joined in the last 5 years. We are grateful to have such a group of people that share and help those new to this sport! If you are new, please talk to the long timers and ask questions. Everyone is always willing to share their experience and provide pointers.
We’ve started the process of scanning over historic documents from our club records. Thought I would share a couple here and give everyone the link to access the rest.
These letters show communication between the Gemmer Club and the NMLRA from 1950.
